We are currently seeking a Director of Research &Development to provide a leadership role in Project Management and Engineering technique for Neurovascular products.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee multiple projects from conception to implementation
  • Define product requirements and project resources, schedules projects, develops and refines designs, and determines tests required to ensure market and business success
  • Manage resources to insure the needs of projects and area of responsibility are met in a thorough and timely fashion
  • Manage and guide engineering reports in the management of their own projects
  • Interact extensively with customers to define programs, provide training, and assist in Marketing roll-out
  • Review patents to determine appropriate actions and responses
  • Scope usually entails an entire business segment.
  • Provide direction to Senior R&D Engineers, R&D Engineers, Associate Engineers, Project Engineers and / or Technicians
  • Design, develop, and refine new products
  • Implement Design Control and GMP standards
  • Develop thorough project plans following Design Control requirements
  • Review existing patents to determine infringement status
  • Provide technical leadership for development projects
  • Schedule, coordinate and manage multiple projects
  • Assist in the transfer of newly developed products from R&D to production
  • Determine, outline, and interpret tests to verify product integrity throughout the development process
  • Supervise and direct Engineers and Technicians in implementing designs, performing and documenting test results
  • Develop and maintain association with outside organizations and institutions pertinent to the interests and needs of the department and the Company
  • Interface with physicians to understand specific needs and develop solutions
  • Identify and coordinate animal studies
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Seven or more years' Engineering experience in the medical device industry
  • Five or more years’ management experience
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Supervisory and motivational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Design Control
  • Computer literate; use of word processing, spreadsheets, CAD programs Materials and processes
  • Reading and interpreting patents GMP and ISO 9000 training
  • Reading and producing drawings
  • Equipment and tooling design
