SRG Global is looking for a Controls Engineer to join our team in Covington, GA near Atlanta!

The Controls Engineer will be partnering with cross functional teams, value streams and/or capabilities to seek and implement the largest opportunities that will create value to the company. All phases of the manufacturing environment are in scope, including safety, continuous improvement, design and development of new business, and transformation.


The ideal candidate will lead the controls aspect of designing, specifying, qualifying, and deploying control systems and connection to manufacturing systems.


What You Will Do

  • Create new PLC and HMI programs from scratch for various types of automation equipment (Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs)
  • Build and implement machine level control systems
  • Integrate Allen Bradley PLCs to various types of automation equipment: Stepper Motors, Industrial Lasers, Fanuc Robots, Vision systems, Barcode Scanners, etc.
  • Program and connect automation systems to existing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Collaborate on concept design, programming, testing and deployment of automation systems
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose and repair issues on automation equipment and address improvement opportunities in the manufacturing process
  • Add and/or modify logic on existing equipment to include advanced quality checks and improvements
  • Design and create electrical schematics for new automation cells
  • Create electrical safety circuits for new automation cells using programmable safety controllers and/or Safety rated PLCs
  • Travel 20-25% of the time

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience with Allen Bradley Control systems and HMI
  • Experience troubleshooting various PLC
  • Experience connecting vision system, safety controllers, and sensors

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or controls engineering
  • Experience working in the automotive industry
  • Experience in MES integration, SCADA, etc.
  • Basic networking troubleshooting skills- checking connectivity etc.
  • Experience in building and commissioning automation equipment
  • Experience integrating PLCs to multi robot automation cells
