Job/Internship Description

Internship Overview

The Payroll & Benefits Intern will work full-time during the summer and potentially work part-time while in school until they graduate.

The goal of the Payroll & Benefits Internship is to introduce payroll processing and benefit administration. The Intern will perform value-added activities for Mansfield while learning critical payroll skills including calculating payroll adjustments and processing benefit billing.

The Payroll & Benefits Intern will have strong attention to detail and an analytical background.


Weekly Activities

  • Calculate and enter payroll adjustments
  • Review timecards
  • Update ADP system with employee changes for payroll processing
  • Prepare audit reports for payroll
  • Calculate and format benefit billing for multiple divisions
  • Answer employee questions about payroll or benefits


Key Projects

  • Audit data in HRIS
  • Process monthly billing for benefit vendors

Key Learning Outcomes / Development Opportunities

  • Develop working knowledge of ADP software
  • Proficiency in payroll processing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Introduction to benefit administration


Requirements

  • Looking for someone who is a Senior pursuing their degree in Human Resources or Accounting who is scheduled to graduate at the end of Summer 2024 or December 2024
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong initiative and work ethic
