Job Summary
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and study team with a newly funded digital health project that uses artificial intelligence to create a "smart" chatbot that helps patients prepare for smoking cessation referrals. The CRC will be responsible for managing the technology updates, revisions, and field testing of a current chatbot developed and managed by the project's technology partner, Open Health Network. After technology revisions are complete, the CRC will work with the PI to oversee a randomized controlled trial testing the efficacy of the chatbot on smoking cessation outcomes for UCSF Health patients and SF Health Network patients. The CRC will direct subject recruitment, respond to requests from potential subjects, schedule interviews, manage interview transcriptions, arranging travel for dissemination meetings, and other essential project tasks, particularly those targeted at recruiting and retaining subjects. The CRC will directly support and report to the project PI. The CRC will assist all study personnel in the creation and maintenance of project databases, Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposals and revisions, progress reports, literature searches, manuscript preparation, and providing general administrative support and project management. The CRC will provide necessary assistance and coordination with the OHN technology team including user-centered design sessions and "training" the chatbot.
