As a Tools & Automation Engineer you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and improving infrastructure and tools used to support the team's automation on Apple's platforms. Potential projects range from increasing our test coverage to building supporting tools and frameworks. The ideal candidate will be technical, detail-oriented, creative, motivated, and focused on achieving results.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of macOS and iOS hardware and experience handling them at scale in lab setups
  • Experience testing applications and triaging issues on iOS and macOS.
  • Experience using Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Compressor applications.
  • Excellent organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Excellent understanding of triaging problems
  • Strong software and hardware debugging skills
  • Experience configuring systems for accurate performance measurements
  • Experience with automation, Unix, and scripting tools and techniques using shell and Python. Xcode/XCTest and Swift is a plus.
  • Able to adapt to a constantly changing environment
  • Must be ambitious, a critical thinker, and have strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative working environment within your team and beyond
  • Familiarity with software development pipelines and bug tracking software
  • Experience with video production and/or post production a plus


Description

We are looking for a talented individual who enjoys contributing to all phases of functional automation and performance testing to enhance the performance of Apple's latest technologies in video apps. Responsibilities include: - Overseeing iOS and macOS hardware pools. - Conducting continuous execution of performance and functional automation tests. - Identifying and debugging issues to distinguish between software, pipeline / integration infrastructure, and hardware-related problems. - Collaborating closely with QA, automation, and app engineering teams to analyze and enhance performance. - Playing a role in influencing improvements in methodology and tools.

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field - 3 years of experience in a related position

Additional Requirements

  • - Bonus points if you have experience in optimizing the analysis of large data sets through automation.


Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
