Job Description

Datadog, a leader in cloud-based monitoring and analytics, is building its Program Management Office (PMO) within the Technical Solutions (TS) division. With over 800+ technical specialists globally-including Sales Engineers, Technical Account Managers, and Support Engineers-our TS organization works directly with customers to enhance their engagement with Datadog's suite of products, ensuring a seamless experience and fostering product adoption to drive growth.

As one of the inaugural TPMs on our Technical Solutions Operations (TS Ops) team, you will have the opportunity to serve as a multiplier for the TS Org by spearheading large-scale, technical programs encompassing software implementation and system upgrades across multiple regions and teams. This role demands a robust understanding of technical program management in systems, requiring coordination with cross-functional partners, defining project requirements, performing business and technical assessments, vetting and testing software vendors, and managing deployments and upgrades with a keen focus on technical excellence. We are committed to growth by attracting and developing top talent through a culture of ownership, innovation, diversity, collaboration, and humility.

At Datadog, we value our office culture - the relationships it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and manage from initiation to delivery extensive technical programs including cloud and SaaS system implementations, upgrades, and integrations, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and on-budget delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive project roadmaps that align with key business objectives, incorporating detailed project plans, feasibility assessments, and needs/impact evaluations.
  • Manage all implementation and deployment processes, including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring the change control process, testing, documentation, and training to ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify and track dependencies and opportunities for optimization; proactively identify problems and recommend solutions before they become blockers.
  • Adopt a quantitative approach to program management by bringing data to planning and prioritization.
  • Ensure progress toward goals by communicating status, relevant updates, risks, and impact across teams & projects, adapting communications for different levels.
  • Work closely with Business Systems Analysts, Engineering, Data Analysts, and business stakeholders to integrate operational processes into company systems, enhancing overall efficiency and scalability.
  • Effectively influence without direct authority, engaging senior internal and external partners.

Who You Are:

  • You have a solid technical background, possibly with an educational experience in information systems, an engineering discipline, mathematics, or equivalent work experience-and you enjoy learning new technologies.
  • You are experienced in technical program management in a dynamic and highly technical environment, with a strong track record in managing complex cross-functional system upgrades and deployment projects in a cloud/SaaS environment (3+ years of related experience).
  • Proficient in leveraging AI technologies or implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance business outcomes.
  • Take a data-driven approach to program management; building tools (workflows, custom work intake processes, estimation models), collecting and analyzing data, and driving stakeholder buy-in.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing systems-specific projects, including large software deployments and upgrades.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively across organizations; strong leadership and interpersonal skills, experience building and fostering effective working relationships across different levels of the organization.
  • You have strong communication skills, attention to detail and are concise, with the ability to simplify complexity to focus your communications on what is most important for specific audiences.
  • Effective at influencing without direct authority at senior levels internal and external to the organization.
  • Embrace a growth mindset with a strong desire to continually learn and grow.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
