PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

THE COMPANY:

Element Science, Inc. is a medical device and digital health company focused on developing solutions at the intersection of clinical-grade wearables, machine learning algorithms, and lifesaving therapies in order to address leading causes of death and hospitalization in patients with heart disease, primarily as they transition from the hospital-to-home. By putting the needs of patients and physicians first, our personalized digital devices, which are designed for function, comfort, and ease-of-use, aim to redefine the paradigm of care for these patients. Our first product, a wearable patch defibrillator, is initially targeted at treating the more than 500,000 patients in the US with an elevated temporary risk of potentially experiencing a lethal heart rhythm. SUMMARY OF ROLE:

Responsible for coordinating the execution of production schedules, hiring, training, and supervision for all production personnel to ensure company objectives are met. Work with operations, manufacturing engineering, quality, and production to ensure compliance with product quality and manufacturing standards and procedures. Play a lead role in prioritizing manufacturing activities to evaluate existing or new processes. Work closely with Manufacturing and Operations teams to implement changes impacting resources, production models, and layouts. Support regulatory audits for manufacturing controlled areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support recruiting, selection, and onboarding of new assemblers.
  • Provide leadership and supervision for production leads & assemblers.
  • Hands-on support on assembly operations to meet build plans as needed.
  • Support the timely execution of projects and plans to improve productivity, quality, yields and labor efficiency.
  • Communicate and track established goals as well as motivate the production team to meet them.
  • Adhere to and manage the effective training of all direct reports on all manufacturing procedures, SOP's, WI's and GMP.
  • Ensure direct reports follow company standard operating procedures that are applicable.
  • Work directly with Mechanical Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Operations to resolve production issues and make necessary improvements.
  • Create, update, and maintain manufacturing metrics, documentation, and schedules.
  • Establish and foster collaboration and respect within the manufacturing personnel and resolve grievances as they arise with the utmost professionalism.
  • Develop a team environment that supports personal growth and opportunities for advancement.
  • Support resolution of non-conformances and line issues.
  • Assist with the execution of validation activities (e.g., equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting) as needed.
  • Assist with the transfer of new products or design changes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, bend, twist, reach, grasp, grip, walk, and stand for several hours.
  • Understand the job-specific quality system procedures and processes as defined in the Training Matrix and adhere to the requirements listed in those documents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of production supervisory experience required.
  • Medical device experience is highly preferred.
  • Flexible to modify working hours to meet specific commitments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word and Excel).
  • Willing to work in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Willing to work with machinery/equipment.
  • Good command and working knowledge of spoken and written English.
  • Understanding of 5S standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills to work across the organization.
  • Demonstrate the ability to balance multiple priorities against aggressive deadlines while maintaining high quality.
  • Must have good problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose production issues.
  • Experience with ERP and PLM software preferred.

The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.

  • Pay range: $83,000 - $93,500 + Annual Bonus
