Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Electronics to support our contract-manufactured (CM) custom electronics assemblies and industrial off-the-shelf electronic components. This role reports into our Global Supply Management team. As part of our Supplier Industrialization Engineering team, you will be the primary technical point of contact with our CMs to support process development for custom electronics and the downselection of off-the-shelf industrial electronics in collaboration with our Electrical Systems and Global Supply Management teams. What you'll do:
  • Execute and embed Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, collaborating with the Design Engineering team during the early stages of design

  • Steer supplier industrialization and top-level assembly (TLA) manufacturing process formulation ensuring all aspects align with Form Energy's specifications

  • Work includes supporting supplier qualification, conducting source inspections, comparing specifications, talking to suppliers and Form Energy Engineering and Operations personnel, examining the suitability and availability of items for delivery, and coordinating the disposition of nonconforming items

  • Fulfill the role of a project manager, mentoring suppliers to adhere to industrialization timelines and updating internal program management teams on supplier progress

  • Motivate suppliers to stay on schedule during the initial Start of Production (SOP), while also supervising supplier resources to guarantee Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) aligns with Form Energy targets

  • Oversee supplier yield outcomes, coordinating with internal test, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Reliability teams (internal or external) to instigate corrective measures and enhance yield

  • Domestic and international travel (expected 30% of the time) is required to engage with CMs, sometimes on short notice

What you'll bring:
  • 5 years of experience in new product development of electronics (PCBA, electronic assembly)

  • BS in electrical engineering or related field

  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing domestic and international suppliers

  • Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/A)

  • Demonstrated experience with PCBA manufacturing processes (SMT and thru-hole) and electronic box builds

  • Demonstrated experience with complex cable harnesses

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Compensation Range: $143K - $159.7K
