Responsibilities

Prepares and maintains daily department resin production goals per shift.

Communicates and coordinates production with other departments to complete assignments and meet objectives.

Recognizes, recommends, and implements, ways to, delegate work, leverage manpower, maximize efficiency, and resolve/troubleshoot problems that arise to ensure productivity levels are not disrupted throughout the shift during production and non-production timeframes. Coordinates with management when issues require escalation for resolution.

Regularly audits the work of the team to ensure it meets expectations for safety, quality, and productivity targets.

Previous experience and fundamental knowledge of the department and its duties to guide and assist staff, troubleshoot, train, and address performance as needed.

Utilizes 5S and Continuous Improvement methodology to identify, implement, and sustain process improvements.

Other duties as assigned.

Assists site management with employee-related issues and questions, such as job assignments and scheduling of time off requests and resolves minor disputes. Escalates issues to management, as needed.

Provides verbal and written input to performance evaluation and partners with management to deliver timely and constructive mid-year and year-end performance evaluations to employees.

Provides management comprehensive performance/attendance infractions for review, in accordance with the corrective action process to include written documentation and verbal overview of violations. Will make recommendations for the appropriate level of corrective action to the manager and assist where appropriate to administer the corrective action.

Trains and coaches on appropriate methods regarding work processes, safety, etc.

Engages in conversation with team members to gather feedback regarding opportunities to improve efficiencies, performance, or work environment on the shift.

Safety Responsibilities:

Follows and administers all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines and rules for assigned shift.

Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste per regulations as required.

Ensures the use of required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.

Promptly addresses issues related to safety and actively coaches and reinforces safety expectations with the team.

Maintains compliance with all local, state, and federal DOT regulations.

Reports near misses and incidents in a timely manner using electronic tracking software

Qualifications

High School degree required or equivalent

Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Solid verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to operate motorized material handling equipment such as, but not limited to, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, reach truck, scissor lift

Competency and confidence utilizing applicable computerized systems such as MS Office Excel, Outlook, Word, SAP

Physical effort and dexterity:

Frequency of physical activity throughout shift:

Frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting of neck and waist, squatting and kneeling

Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects from floor, conveyor, vehicle, table, or overhead location

Constant standing and walking (6-8+ hours)

Occasional lifting of 10-75 lbs. (1-3+ hours) throughout shift
