Position Overview: As a Heavy Equipment Lube Technician at our rock quarry in Hondo, Texas, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our heavy equipment fleet's proper maintenance and lubrication. Your responsibilities will include performing oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and greasing components on various heavy machinery to uphold optimal performance and prevent mechanical issues.

Hours: 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM, Monday - Saturday

Location: Medina Quarry in Hondo, Texas

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Promotion: Prioritize safety throughout operations, adhering to MSHA and Vulcan standards at all times.
  2. Lubrication Services: Perform routine oil changes and grease application on heavy equipment to maintain proper functioning and prevent premature wear and tear.
  3. Fluid Checks: Inspect and top off fluid levels, including coolant, hydraulic fluid, and transmission fluid, as part of routine maintenance procedures.
  4. Filter Replacements: Change filters, such as oil filters, fuel filters, and air filters, to ensure clean and efficient operation of equipment.
  5. Basic Inspections: Conduct visual inspections of equipment for signs of damage, leaks, or other issues that may require attention, documenting findings accurately.
  6. Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed, including service dates, types of services, and any identified issues, in written or electronic form.
  7. Equipment Assistance: Assist senior technicians in troubleshooting and repairs as needed, gaining valuable hands-on experience and contributing to efficient maintenance operations.
  8. Physical Activities: Perform physical tasks such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials as required.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of servicing heavy construction equipment and industrial tools.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and in various weather conditions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
