An example is a current associate working last year for a total of 1526 hours on a schedule she designed where she produced a base pay of around 76/77k complemented by a bonus of around 67k, exemplifying the practice's commitment to recognizing and rewarding dedication and production. About North Bay Vision Center

North Bay Vision Center is owned by Dr. James E. Bruns who opened the practice in 1974 to serve the surrounding communities of Rohnert Park. For over 49 years, this 4800 sq. ft. practice has provided full-service optometry to families and residents in Sonoma County of all ages, insurances, and visual/medical diagnoses. The team of Optometrists integrate a one-on-one approach to optometry and specialize in behavioral optometry, ocular diseases, specialty contacts, surgical co-management, vision rehabilitation and vision therapy. The practice is easily accessible from US-101, Rohnert Park Expressway, and within walking distance to the Raley's and Park Plaza shopping centers. Other large attractions in town include the Green Music Center located on the Sonoma State University campus. The Graton Casino is located on the west side of the freeway.To help support the practice's growth and maintain the legacy service for years to come, Dr. Bruns is looking to add an additional provider to the team of two doctors, vision therapists, office manager, and five cross-trained assistants.

This practice uses state-of-the-art vision care technology, including retinal imaging and optical coherence tomography to diagnose and treat a wide array of eye diseases. To ensure a personalized and comfortable experience for patients, the practice has four exam rooms, two vision therapy rooms, a pre-testing room and a separate contact lens room. The optometry professionals work closely with the patients to select proper frames for cosmetic, lifestyle and vision needs-plus, a modern eyewear dispensary offers over 1,500 frames for all budgets-ranging from basic to high-end designer styles.

About the opening

North Bay Vision Center is seeking an Associate Optometrist who is passionate about providing personalized and individualized care the patients know and expect. In this role, you will provide full-scope optometry including in-depth eye exams, prescribe specialty contacts, manage ocular diseases and surgical co-management. The current office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday; and 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday. The Associate Optometrist will work 3 days a week and required to provide care one Saturday morning per month - expect this to expand to 4.5 days per week within 6 months. Compensation is based on a guaranteed minimum hourly base with a percentage of daily production as a maximum.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate will integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services. Maintaining quality vision care is necessary for the success of North Bay Vision Center; therefore, it is important for the Associate Optometrist to share this goal.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Optometry license in the state of California

  • Excellent clinical skills - medical optometry and binocular vision
