Job Summary
Staff Physicians of the Department of Family and Community Medicine (FCM) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) are passionate about improving healthcare delivery, particularly for the underserved; share in our mission to improve health through excellence, innovation, and an antiracist/anti-oppressive framework in patient care, education, research, advocacy, and community empowerment. Staff Physicians perform clinical responsibilities in the following areas at ZSFG:
Limited Staff Physicians (10-40% variable FTE) are appointed to one-year annual appointments ending June 30th of each year. Appointments are subject to annual renewal. Final job descriptions will be determined at the time of hire.

Department Description
The Department of Family & Community Medicine (DFCM) is engaged in research, teaching, training, service and clinical activities located at seven primary UCSF and leased sites in San Francisco (Parnassus, ZSFG, Mission Center Building, Laurel Heights, Mission Hall, Lakeshore, Lakeside) as well as the OSHER center, Women's Health and the UCSF Primary Care Practices at China Basin and Laurel Village and at various local community, national and international research/service/educational training and clinical sites. In addition to the Department's Family Medicine Residency Program located at ZSFG, the Department has affiliated residency programs in Fresno, Salinas, Santa Rosa, Kaiser Vallejo, Santa Rosa, John Muir, and Contra Costa Health Systems. Authority and accountability for the Department reside with the Department Chair who delegates authority to Vice Chairs, the Executive Council, Directors and Chiefs of Service and their Administrators and the Department Associate Chair of Administration and Finance.

The DFCM has a large teaching, research, and clinical set of programs and activities based at ZSFG where this position and more than half of all the activities for DFCM are based.
With more than 100,000 patient visits annually to its practices at ZSFG and the UCSF Health System, the Department of Family and Community Medicine delivers full-spectrum family medicine care, including comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, urgent care, inpatient acute care, and obstetrical services. FCM serves patients throughout San Francisco's many diverse neighborhoods.
